Turkey
There are at least 50 synagogue buildings all around Turkey, presenting examples of many different styles and types thanks to Turkey’s geographical size and position at the crossroads of Europe and Asia as well as to the cultural and trade connections and exchanges during the Ottoman Age.
In addition, there are dozens of Jewish cemeteries dating back centuries. About three dozen Jewish cemeteries in western Turkey were extensively photographed and documented in the 1980s.
