Findbuch for Victims of National Socialism
Digital platform that will enable comprehensive searches for people, companies or addresses in several archives and various file holdings regarding Holocaust victims. Initially, the Findbuch will contain around 120,000 records, with new records being added on a regular basis. It wlll form one of the most comprehensive sources of information on property seizure under National Socialism and restitution and compensation measures after 1945 on the territory of the Republic of Austria.
It will enable searches of digitized historical address directories and official handbooks on public offices and institutions, facilitating both research into the authorities responsible for “aryanization” and the restitution, and research on individuals and residential and commercial addresses.
