An Adventist church will soon move into the former synagogue in Cork, Ireland, which was closed with a ceremony last month because the local congregation is too small to sustain it. We reported at the time that it was believed that the building would be taken over by a church.
An article in the Evening Echo now reports that “Negotiations are almost complete on the future of the building, with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church set to take over in the coming weeks.”
The article quoted Pastor Jeff Freeman as saying that his 35-member congregation hoped to move into the building in the summer: “We are finalising the details with the Jewish community as we speak,” he said. “We won’t be moving into it for a few months as some repairs are needed.”
