Attention young scholars….please help us!
For a possible future project, we are seeking information on scholars who have completed a Masters or PhD degree — or are current working on one — in the field of Jewish heritage: what is the focus of your research (and/or your dissertation title)? and with which institution/department are you affiliated?
We are attempting to gauge the academic interest and research in these fields, across topical and geographical boundaries.
Professors — if you have students working on these and related topics, also please let us know.
Yes, the field is broad.
But more specifically we are seeking information on dissertations and MA thesis topics that deal (more or less) with all aspects of Jewish built heritage — that includes Jewish museums and museology (and specific work on archives); Jewish heritage tourism; Hebrew epigraphy and Jewish gravestone studies; the status and historic preservation of Jewish heritage sites; synagogue art and architecture; the development and current status of old ghettos and Jewish quarters; “shtetl studies”; Jewish culture festivals and cultural events that feature or focus on Jewish heritage and built heritage, etc etc etc etc
In addition, scholars — if you have uploaded your work on these topics to academia.edu or elsewhere, we will be pleased to include the link on Jewish Heritage Europe in our bibliography and resources sections, so please send it along.
Please use the contact form on this web site to be in touch.
Thanks in advance!
