The Red de Juderias, or Network of Jewish Quarters, in Spain has just unveiled a new “Routes of Sefarad” smartphone and tablet app that will allow users to navigate through the 24 old Jewish quarters the network.
The app is the latest in the ground-breaking partnership with new technology that also involves collaboration between the Red de Juderias and Google maps. It is also the latest in a growing number of apps adapted for Jewish travel and tourism.
It includes data for over 700 points of interest on the route’s 24 city members — including monuments but also restaurants, hotels and other trip-related locations. Users can share their trip details on Facebook and Twitter and other social networks, take and share photos, make check-ins and save favorite places. There are also thumbnail images and full screen photo galleries of locations, maps and plans.
The app is available on both the ITunes and Android platforms, in Spanish and in English:
