After the recent dedication of the restored synagogue in Radauti, Romania, news comes that the synagogue in Buhusi, which dates from the mid-19th century and has impressive wall paintings, also has recently been restored with funding from what was described as the Admor Association of Israel. According to a report in the local media, the synagogue and the historic Jewish cemetery (which has many very fine carved gravestones) will be maintained by the municipality, which hopes they will become attractions for tourists. Only three Jews are said to live in Buhusi today.
