Czech TV will premiere an hour-long version of a new film on the history and legends of Prague’s old Jewish quarter on March 28. The full 90-minute movie with be screened at Prague’s Evald cinema on April 24, 25 and 26.
Called Pátá čtvrť: zmizelé město pražské (Fifth District: The Disappeared City of Prague), the film (at least from the trailers) mixes animation, fantasy, live action and music to tell both the history of the Fifth District and the tales and legends that grew up around it.
The film was written and directed by Joseph Císařovský, with story and screenplay by David Jan Novotny.
